Great Show Last Night... Dispite The Weather!

Wow, Last night was a lot of fun! We played in Wallace, NC. I was coordinating with Jim Earp of Earp Entertainment, who was providing sound equipment for the show, all day long regarding the nastiness of the weather. We were hoping to play, but were a little scared that it wasn't going to happen. Kyle and I drove out of Greenville around 3:30 as the rest of the group was leaving (some from Roanoke Rapids, and some from a flight from Chicago) and drove through awful storms the whole way.
At any rate, we got there, and had to wait out the storm some. We were intended to begin at 6:30 and go until 8, but we couldn't start until around 7:15, so we played an hour from that moment, and it was a lot of fun. Wallace is a beautiful town, with wonderful people. We hope that we have made new friends that we can see often, and hope to grace that stage in the near future.
CD recording update.... I realize we had slated the release date for a few weeks ago, but things aren't just right yet. We want you to get the best cd possible, and I can promise, it will shock and awe!
Happy July... Enjoy those Summer Nights!

New Puppy!

My wife Shelly and I adopted our first puppy this past Thursday. We adopted him at the Pitt County Humane Society, which is a great place to rescue animals. They were so good to the animals, and we were so excited to bring him home. He is a little Hound mix... I call him my cute little mutt, but he is MY MUTT! We named him Gene Kelly, because one of our favorite actors is Gene Kelly, and one of our most favorite movies is "Singin In The Rain"! I love this little guy so much. He is so sweet, and loves to play, and is so well behaved. We have a lot of fun together. I posted a video of him last night. It was fun! He is very inspiring!
Hope you like the video,
Chase

SOS Spring Safari in North Myrtle Beach

Kyle and I took a trip down to North Myrtle Beach, SC yesterday. The 2009 SOS Spring Safari was going on, and we went to perform at a few Listening Parties. We started at the Avista Resort, which is a beautiful resort. We wanted to perform something new, but nothing had been finished, so the night before, Kyle came into my studio and we finished the track on the lead song for the new cd called "Givin' It Back". It's a new Soul-Pop song, that is shaggable for the dancers. I got the idea for the song a few months ago, and had most of it done, and Kyle helped me finish it up. We performed it and the Avista first. I had to bring a cheat sheet to remember the words, and forgot some, but I think it was a great preview for what is to come. Here is a vid Shelly shot for us. Thanks!

Taylor

I just heard from mom that she spoke to Taylor and he is doing great. He was getting on a plane from Salt Lake City, then on to Denver. I'm so proud of him. He's going to be awesome...

Happy Easter

Happy Easter from All of Us! We hope that your Easter Sunday is a wonderful one, and that you remember the reason for this season!

Two Words... Katy Perry

Tonight, the show in Myrtle Beach, SC was great, and the crowd reaction was terrific. After the show, Shelly (my wife), Kerri, Mom, Janelle (Blaine's Wife), and I went to Walmart in Myrtle Beach to purchase some Easter stuff for Blaine's 2 children. We finished picking up everything, and headed for the check-out... At the check-out we realized we were missing one thing, and I was embarraced, Kerri ran to get what we left. I turned around to invite the people behind us to go in front if Kerri didn't get back before it was our time, and I couldn't believe it but Katy Perry and a few members of her entourage were standing there. Honestly, I'm not quite sure how I could pick her out as she was wearing a purple hoody, and a cap, but I just was able to. I am a fan, but didn't think I could pick her out that way. I kinda freaked for a second privately, then turned to Shelly, and said "that's Katy Perry behind us". We ended up talking to her for about 10 minutes as we were waiting in line for the people in front to go. She was incredibly nice and said her show that night at the House of Blues (which I would have loved to be at) had gone great. She was worn out after 7 shows in 7 days, but she would be spending Easter in Memphis, and touring Graceland with her family. We didn't tell her that Kerri sings "Hot N Cold" or even that we are in a band, as I am sure she hears that hourly. We took a picture, but unfortunately, the camera freaked out when we were trying to post the pictures on to the computer, which stinks, but things happen. Anyway, it was a good day...

Triathalon

So we did the triathlon on Saturday in Roanoke Rapids. My wife competed and won in her category, which was way cool. The turn out was great, with over 100 participants involved. On the note of the new cd, it's still coming along, but much slower than expected. We are so busy working on so many things, that the process has slowed down tremendously. Very sorry to all of you waiting on it. Anyway, back to life...

Oh, New songs being added:
Just Dance - Lady Gaga (Lead Vox by Kerri)
Saturday In The Park - Chicago (Lead Vox by Mark)
Love Song - Sara Barielles (Lead Vox by Kerri)
Love Story - Taylor Swift (Lead Vox by Kerri)
Earth Wind & Fire Medley (In The Stone, September, After The Love Has Gone, Sing A Song) - Featuring All of Us
It's The Same Old Song/Reach Out - Four Tops (Lead Vox- Chase/Kyle)
Hip To Be Square - Huey Lewis & The News (Lead Vox By Mark)
Don't Stop Believing/Any Way You Want It - Journey (Lead Vox By Chase)
Signed Sealed Delivered - Stevie Wonder (Lead Vox By Kyle)
Too Late To Turn Back Now - Cornelius Bros (Lead Vox Blaine)
Picture To Burn - Taylor Swift (Kerri)

Others are coming, just you wait...

Moving Forward

With Taylor leaving last Tuesday, we have had many adjustments to make. Though he will have a solo on the record, you may not see him in the artwork of the record. With the loss of Taylor for two years, we are having to replace a drummer position. Thank goodness, both Pops (Mark) and I play drums while we train the new drummer. We have one picked out, who is a friend of mine, but we needed to make sure he was fully prepared before we introduce him to the audiences. The record is coming along, with the first single to be released Tuesday, April 14. You will be able to purchase the tune on the Given Take Website. We do hope that you will like it. The entire record is incredibly evolved from our previous recordings, with our maturity. Let's see what happens...

Trying To Embrace Everything...

Ok, so I am finally trying to totally embrace all that the internet has to offer to best efficiently promote the upcoming cd. We now have a facebook page, reverb nation, myspace, twitter, and others. I am working hard to make sure everyone is aware of everything going on.
So, here is where we are at.... We have finished about 6 of the 14 tracks, and they are coming out really nice. I have written 11 tracks for the record, and we have found a few more that I think you will love. This cd features Kerri more than ever before, with 3 solo lead tracks. Taylor came and recorded his big solo before he left on his mission. I think everyone is going to love the record. I'll keep you posted as we get closer to the release.
Much love,
.... Chase
